This is the viral moment two teams of university students ‘unwind’ from exam revisions by taking part in a barefoot tug-of-war on a slippery dormitory hallway floor.
The incident was filmed at the Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in the town of Seri Iskandar in the north-western Malaysian state of Perak, and the video was shared on Twitter by netizen ‘Amrlhakim’ where it is going viral with over 720,000 views.
In the footage, the students are seen divided into two teams at either end of a long hallway.
Competing barefoot on a shiny floor, the two teams pull on the thick rope and the students on the left cheer and gesticulate to their rivals after forcing them ‘past the post’.
Netizens had a lot to say about the students’ after-class exploits, with ‘Sun4ijaa’ commenting: “I love and envy at how boys are so creative when it comes to having fun.”
‘Ahshitbruh’ said: “One of the reasons why being a guy is the best!”
Established in 1997, the UTP offers a wide range of industry-relevant engineering, science, and technology programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Owned by the Malaysian oil and gas company Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), the university aims to produce graduates with excellent leadership qualities and communication abilities.
