Wife Stabbed By Hubby Drives To Hospital And Gives Birth

A pregnant woman who was allegedly stabbed in the stomach by her husband then drove herself to the hospital and gave birth.

The 35-year-old woman, who has not been named, was reportedly stabbed at her home in the Presint 9 area of the city of Putrajaya in western Malaysia.

The woman was 37 weeks pregnant when her husband, who has not been named but is reportedly 39 years old, allegedly attacked her with a knife.

Local police chief Rosly Hasan said the woman, a teacher, suffered injuries to her finger, stomach, back and right arm from the blade.

She then drove herself to Putrajaya Hospital where she was admitted into the emergency ward. Hours later, she is said to have given birth to a healthy boy after a Caesarean section, with both mother and child reportedly in a stable condition,

Hasan said that doctors at the hospital had called the police and officers had arrested the suspect at the home as well as seizing the knife allegedly used in the attack.

The suspect has been remanded until 15th November but it is unclear if he has been charged.

No motive has been provided for the attack and the investigation is ongoing.
