Reformed fraudster Kursat Yildirim – known as Chico – became a huge star when he scooped a EUR 9.9 million jackpot (GBP 8.75 million) six months ago.

Just six weeks after his jackpot win he pocketed another EUR 1,700 (GBP 1,500).

Then – just days ago – the former Dortmund crane operator won a further EUR 2,684.90 (GBP 2,300) payout.

Now he has told how he reckons wins come to him because of his lucky karma.

He said: “I now know that the best thing to do with your money is to help others. That brings more satisfaction than any gain.”

Chico added: “It’s a bit like karma. I can only advise everyone: do good and you will be rewarded at some point, just like me.”

But Chico says people are always begging him for insider secrets on how to win.

He said: “Of course, there is no recipe! In the end, it’s like lightning: when it’s supposed to hit you, it hits you, even if it’s unlikely.

“But I help luck a bit: I only play full system tickets, you can tick more numbers, but you also pay more. The ticket I handed in today cost me EUR 1,700 [GBP 1,500].”

Chico, 42, loves expensive clothes and luxury cars – he now owns a GBP 392,000 V8 Ferrari 448 Pista and a GBP 178,000 Porsche Turbo S Cabriolet.

But he also helps others with his money, giving his latest prize to a friend’s children, it has emerged.

Chico has known pal Apo S. since he moved to Germany at the age of 12.

The pair have been close ever since, regularly helping each other when times were tough.

Now Apo, 44, wants to take Chico out to a posh Italian restaurant to thank him for putting his latest lottery prize win into his children’s savings account.

In fact, Apo was the one who bought the winning ticket at a petrol station and gave it to Chico “for fun”.

Apo told German media: “I just bought two lottery tickets. Chico was allowed to choose one. It was actually just for fun.”

Chico has recently made donations, for the needy and homeless, and also to help the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.

And last month he was in Africa taking part in aid projects.

Chico says he plans to take part in other projects that are sure to earn him some good karma.

And he also said he plans to keep playing the lottery, saying: “I have no intention of stopping. And I’m quite sure that I’ll win the main prize again.”
