Loyal Pet Pup Guards Escaped Baby Crawling Down Street

This is the man’s best friend moment when a loyal pet pup follows his family’s escape artist baby as he crawls down the street in the middle of the night.

Unknown to his parents, the year-old tot had crept out of the family home in Cordoba, Argentina, at 4am, local media reported on 14th May.

With his pooch pal beside him, the tot managed to crawl more than 200 feet (70 metres) down the road before he was spotted by the police.

CCTV footage shows the youngster shuffling along on his hands and knees.

The footage shows police officers getting out of their patrol vehicle and rescuing the tot before tracking down his family by going door to door in the neighbourhood.

The boy’s astonished 24-year-old mother is seen wrapping him in a blanket before the footage ends.

She told local media: “We were sleeping all four of us last night, because we have a baby.

“He was there with my aunt and fell asleep next to her and he woke up and got out of bed.

“I don’t know how he got past the door that was locked.”

Police spokesperson Ariel Britos told local media: “It was a happy ending but it could have been a different story.”

He added: “The mother said that she was sleeping wrapped up with her child. The child slid, crawled and apparently the little dog that accompanied him managed to open the door of the home.

“He was alone out in the open.”

The police are investigating the incident.
