Boy, 3, Dies After Locking Himself In Mum’s Car For Two Hours While Playing

A three-year-old boy has died after he accidentally locked himself in his mother’s car for two hours while playing.

Heitor Brito Wuaden was buried on Mother’s Day after his distraught mum found him unconscious in the vehicle outside their home in Guaranta do Norte, in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, on Saturday, 13th May before he passed away in the early hours of Sunday.

The child’s father told the police that his wife had arrived home with Heitor at around 1 pm that day before going to bed for a nap.

The woman, who has not been named, said that she woke up to find her child missing before eventually finding him in the vehicle.

He was taken to hospital unconscious but passed away at around 2 am on Sunday, according to local media.

His heartbroken mother reportedly said that Heitor, who was autistic, liked to play in the car.

Heitor was buried in the municipal cemetery on Sunday, 14th May, which was Mother’s Day in Brazil.

Mayor Erico Stevan Goncalves said on social media: “Our deepest condolences. To the parents, who are heartbroken with pain, we wish that God, in his Infinite Mercy, comfort you and grant Peace to your Hearts.

“And may God welcome little Heitor to his Eternal Home. To friends and family, our condolences.”

The police are investigating the incident.
