This is the hilarious moment a couple’s pet dog tries to help them gain speed by pushing forward with its front paws while they all ride on a scooter.
Phone footage filmed by another rider travelling on their left shows the eager Border Collie getting its paws on the ground while it sits on the leg rest and helping the vehicle move along in Nanning, in China’s southern Guangxi Region.
Seemingly not realising the scooter moved on its own, it ran with its front legs for a while before hopping back on as if it were riding a skateboard.
Meanwhile, its owners sat on the seat and carefully made their way through traffic, allowing their helper to enjoy itself.
The scene attracted widespread curiosity on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, where the owners posted the two videos.
A user titled ‘Andersen’ commented: “Don’t doubt the Border Collie, it simply feels that your car is too slow, so it decides to get down and pedal a few steps on its own for a faster pace.”
Another, titled ‘Lottery winnings are huge’, asked: “Is this a new way to walk your dog?”
While ‘baby pig’ said: “I ride a bicycle to walk my Corgi on the road in the local community.
“When I go straight, it hardly requires me to ride it. The dog is more excited than me. It drags me and runs. I am really afraid of being knocked down by it.”
