This is the moment a brave screaming woman fights off an alleged assailant and reportedly disarms the suspected would-be robber of his knife.

The incident was filmed at a micro-credit office in the city of Volzhsky in the south-western Russian region of Volgograd Oblast and the footage was later shared on social media.

In the video, the hooded man is seen rushing into the office and jumping over the woman’s desk to attack her.

The frightened worker begins screaming loudly while managing to fend off the attacker.

The alleged would-be robber then jumps over her desk and runs out of the office after she reportedly disarmed him and brandished the knife in his face.

He then lingers at the front door, apparently wondering what to do next, before leaving the premises.

Meanwhile, the frightened worker presses the security button and locks the front door while waiting for the cops to arrive.

At the end of the video, a police officer is seen entering the office to speak with the woman.

According to local media, a 30-year-old suspect was arrested several feet from the office.

Reports said that he was trying to steal the victim’s handbag because he desperately needed cash to buy drugs.

Netizen ‘Selena L’ said: “What a brave woman. I hope this guy gets jailed for a long time.”
