A six-year-old boy has died and his mother has been seriously injured after a gas explosion in their flat in Spain.
The incident took place on Circunvalacion Encina Street, in Granada, in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, on Monday, 15th May, with the six-year-old dying in the blaze in his 47-year-old mother being taken to hospital in serious condition.
The boy’s mother reportedly has burns all over her body.
The first piece of footage, which appears to have been filmed from a building across the street, shows the flat on fire after the explosion at around 3:20am on the night of Sunday to Monday.
Smoke can be seen coming out of the building’s third-floor flat with the flat below apparently also catching fire.
Blue lights can be seen hitting the building as the footage ends, apparently indicating the arrival of the emergency services.
The second piece of footage appears to show the scene from the street below.
Neither the young boy nor his mother has been named.
About 40 locals were evacuated while firefighters put out the blaze.
Investigators are attempting to determine if the gas burner in the kitchen was the source of the explosion.
