This is the moment a train ploughs into a cement lorry at a level crossing after the driver ignores the stationmaster’s frantic warnings and tries to drive across.

The footage filmed by a passing motorist shows the fully loaded concrete mixer lorry making a left turn onto the occupied railway tracks at North Port in the town of Klang, which is the state capital of Selangor in West Malaysia.

In the footage, the stationmaster can be seen walking up to the lorry driver, 43, while furiously waving his flag in a bid to stop the vehicle.

But the lorry is stopped on the railway tracks just as the freight train arrives, with the locomotive slamming into the side of the vehicle despite apparent attempts to slow down and brake.

The video shows a large crowd of dust appearing as the train crashes into the side of the cement lorry, bowling it over and leaving it overturned on the side of the tracks.

Shamsul Amar Ramli – Chief Assistant Commissioner of South Klang District Police – told local media that neither the lorry driver nor the train operator, 58, was injured.

He said: “The collision caused the cement lorry to overturn and its contents to spill out at the crash site.

“The train sustained damage to its nose and engine, but both the lorry driver and train driver were not harmed.”

He added that the lorry driver was being investigated for breaching the Railway Act of 1991.
