This young woman seen posing as an angel in this picture has allegedly been shot dead by her teen neighbour after she complained that he made her dog stressed by throwing firecrackers in the street.

Gabriela Dalenogare Cogo, 25, was shot dead in the municipality of Santa Maria in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul on 12th December.

The prime suspect is her 19-year-old neighbour who, according to the police investigation, was throwing firecrackers in the street.

One of the firecrackers is believed to have hit Cogo’s patio, causing her dog to become stressed. Cogo and other neighbours then complained to the suspect.

According to the police, the teen then went to his house, grabbed a gun, went back to the street, and opened fire.

One of the shots went through the door of a workshop opposite Cogo’s house where she was at the time, hitting the young woman. She died while receiving medical attention.

Cogo, who worked in a pharmacy, hailed from the municipality of Nova Esperanca do Sul in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, but had moved to Santa Maria two years ago with her husband Eduardo Bittencourt.

He told local media: “Gabriela was everything to me, everything I had, everything I loved most. It’s unbelievable, I can’t understand it, I can’t believe it yet.”

Cogo’s father Paulo told local media: “It’s a case that cannot go unpunished. I’m practically finished. She was a great daughter.”

According to local media, the suspect, name not disclosed, has not yet been arrested, but a request for his arrest is imminent, according to the police.

The police also said that he has a history of random shootings, and that the latest incident was caught on CCTV.

Cogo was buried on 13th December. The investigation continues.
