Woman Who Posted Video Of Her Smiling With Beheaded Owl Killed By Two Hitmen

A woman who posted a video of her holding a beheaded owl on social media has been killed by two hitmen.

Mileydis Aldana Herazo, 21, was murdered just in front of her home in the neighbourhood of Luis Carlos Galan in the municipality of Corozal located in the Colombian department of Sucre on 13th December.

The victim was reportedly shot by two suspects who approached her on a motorbike and gunned her down, shooting her a total of six times in her chest, left arm and left leg before speeding off.

Aldana Herazo was taken to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police have not reported on any suspects and are still investigating the motive behind the crime as the victim had a criminal record for the production and sale of narcotics, according to the newspaper Infobae. (https://bit.ly/2LyEPqd)

The 21-year-old was also being investigated on charges of animal abuse after posting a video where she and a male companion were seen holding a decapitated owl while smiling in June this year.

It is unclear if they were seen decapitating the owl in the footage, however reports said that Aldana Herazo was seen holding the bird both before and after it was killed.

The video was condemned by netizens and led the authorities to start an investigation on her that could have landed her behind bars for anywhere between 12 to 26 months.

Infobae also said that Aldana Herazo had been posting messages on her Facebook account showing messages seemingly threatening her life since 8th December. However, no further information was given.
