A woman in Louisiana has been arrested for stabbing her boyfriend after he wet the bed while asleep after a night of heavy drinking.

Briana Lacost, 25, has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

Police deputies responded to reports of a stabbing victim at a local hospital suffering from a punctured lung on Saturday, 14th January.

The victim, who has not been named, told deputies that his girlfriend had become “extremely enraged” after he wet the bed.

A police report reportedly noted that the suspect and the victim had been out drinking that night and were both inebriated.

After wetting the bed, the victim said that he was woken up by his girlfriend hitting him and when he tried to put some distance between him and his attacker, Lacost allegedly attacked him with a kitchen knife and stabbed him.

Lacost reportedly told investigators that she and her boyfriend had been planning on breaking up and that she had become upset after he wet the bed.

She alleged that the victim began choking her during the fight and that she stabbed him in self-defence. She also claimed that she tried to administer first aid but in the end, took her boyfriend to hospital.

Lacost has been charged with second-degree attempted murder. The investigation is ongoing.
