This is the moment a poor woman in Mexico bursts into tears when she is given a doll for Christmas and admits she had never had one before.

The present was given to the worker identified as Lilian ‘Cucu’ Mejia as part of a Secret Santa gift-giving in which everybody has to bring a present for somebody else in the workforce.

The video of the woman opening the present and breaking down in tears when she realises she has been finally given the first doll in her life was shared on TikTok, where it quickly went viral.

The woman behind the camera can be heard encouraging her colleague to unwrap the gift as she enthusiastically tears off the wrapping paper.

‘Cucu’ is then moved to tears when she realises it is a doll, prompting her filming colleague to say “don’t cry” several times.

The tearful woman is then seen holding up the doll and saying: “I’ve never had a doll in my life, never, it’s my first doll.”

Her colleagues then applaud her, and she thanks her co-worker for the gift, which she was given at lunchtime at an unnamed factory in the city of Monterrey, in the north-eastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, where they all worked.

The video has attracted almost two million views, with 200,000 netizens ‘liking’ the video and 7,000 commenting after it was shared by ‘Cucu’ on her personal account ‘lilianmejiao6’.
