TOPPING OFF: Parked Cars Destroyed By Roof Torn Off By Wind

This is the moment the roof of a building is torn off by strong winds and lands on 10 cars parked below.

The incident happened in the city of Yichun, in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang, on 5th April.

In the first piece of CCTV footage, huge steel sheets, together with much of the roof structure, can be seen falling and smashing the parked vehicles.

In the next two videos, the torn-off roof can be seen lying on the cars parked in the yard after the fall, with the smashed vehicles seen covered with debris.

According to reports, the wreckage was torn off the top of a nearby community building and destroyed about 10 cars.

Owners of the damaged cars who had insurance policies were advised to contact their insurance companies to settle any claims, as the building’s management denied it was responsible.

Reports say the roof’s fall was caused by strong winds, and the police, after taking pictures of the scene and the damage, are conducting further investigations.

Emergency work, meanwhile, was hastily carried out on the roof in order to protect the rooms below, and the debris was also cleared away for the vehicle owners to assess the damage.
