This is the incredible moment a devoted son catches his OAP mother after she fell from the roof of their family home.

The mother, who reportedly has Alzheimer’s disease, had gone missing from her room and, while her son was looking for her, emerged on the roof of the building.

But as her son and a passerby urged her to stay put, she climbed over a ledge and apparently tried to climb down.

As she fell, she was only saved when her son and the other man caught her before she hit the brick courtyard below.

The drama unfolded in front of shocked witnesses at Fuyang, which is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Anhui province, in China.

The woman comes into view on the roof and starts peering over the edge just as the son walks briefly off-camera and then reappears and spots her shortly before she falls.

He starts shouting for help and another man then runs out, and together they manage to successfully catch the pensioner before she smashes into the ground.

A woman who then spots the drama rushes over and, together, all three of them help lower the OAP to the ground, apparently unharmed.

The son said that he had left his mother watching TV and lost her when he went in the room to check on her, and it was only through luck that he spotted her at the last minute.
