This is the moment a policeman is sent flying when he loses control of his patrol vehicle after crashing it straight into an oncoming lorry.

The head-on collision was captured by traffic cameras in the town of Jingkou in Bobai County in China’s southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The footage dated 22nd June shows the cop veer his cart out of his lane and into the path of the lorry, which is hauling a mobile crane on the back.

The out-of-control electric patrol cart slams into the front of the lorry at 6:38am local time, with the collision sending the policeman flying out of his seat and onto the road because he has no seat belt.

As his vehicle crashes into a roadside ditch, another CCTV angle shows the lorry overturning on side and sliding to a stop further ahead.

The lorry driver and his passenger were rescued from the cabin of the vehicle.

Both sustained only minor injuries, authorities said.

The cop driving the patrol cart has not been named, but the police said he was on his way back to the station from a night shift when the crash happened.

The officer claims he was trying to avoid colliding with a motorcycle, which the CCTV images show to be on the road ahead, when he veered out his lane and crashed into the lorry.

The accident is still under investigation.
