Teen Migrant On Train Wagon Zapped By Power Cables

This is the moment a teenage Afghan migrant cheats death as he is electrocuted by overhead power cables in a flash of light after he climbed on top of a train carriage.

The shocking incident took place in the town of Presevo in the district of Pcinja in southern Serbia, when the 18-year-old migrant from Afghanistan, whose identity has not been disclosed, was walking on top of the train wagon.

In the video, a group of migrants can be seen on top of the wagon when one of them begins climbing down.

Another of the victims begins walking towards the edge when he touches the power cables, sending a flash of light into the air.

The 18-year-old victim the drops to the ground with his body seemingly rigid and another migrant on the edge of the wagon then drops down after him.

Local media report the victim was taken to a hospital in the city of Vranje in a serious condition from where was transported to clinic centre in the city of Nis in southern Serbia.

There were reportedly more migrants with him who were not injured. 

An unnamed witness said: “They were passing over the wagons and the young man was literally thrown from the train by the strong electric shock.”

According to local media the teen has survived the ordeal and the voltage in the power cable is reportedly 25 kilovolts.

The police could not share details about the incident, according to local media.
