This is the moment a hero train conductor revives a young female passenger who suffered a heart attack and was not breathing on board a high-speed rail car.

The conductor of the high-speed train, identified as Gu Rong, saved the passenger’s life outside the south-eastern Chinese city of Guiyang over a period of 26 minutes, according to local media.

Reports said that a young woman with heart problems went into cardiac arrest when the train arrived at its destination at Guiyang North railway station in the province of Guizhou.

Rong stepped forwards to perform CPR on the woman, named Zhao, until an ambulance could arrive.

Rong told local media about the moment she saw the passenger clutching her chest and gasping for air, saying: “She could hardly talk. She managed to squeeze out some words about her medical history.”

Zhao, who had undergone heart surgery, managed to communicate that she had her heart tablets in her bag and the conductor gave her one.

When the train arrived at the station, Rong called for an ambulance but the woman passed out.

She said: “In that moment, I couldn’t feel her breath [anymore].”

Rong performed CPR and the woman came round after a couple of minutes but soon fainted again.

The conductor kept going until the ambulance arrived, by which time the passenger was breathing again.

“I am simply glad that I did what I was taught and Zhao is alright now.”
