SHREDDY WRECK: Teen Street Car Racer Seized After Cops Shred Tyres

This is the moment police bear down on a reckless teen driver as he tries to flee a crackdown on illegal street racing.

The driver – named as Miguel Pineda-Ricardo, 18 – had been part of a group of street racers raided by police in the city of Atlanta, in the US state of Georgia, on the morning of 16th October.

Cop cam footage of the pursuit shows the driver trying to flee police in a grey Dodge Charger.

But as he tries to hide in a cul-de-sac, officers spot him and lay out a spiked stop stick which shreds the car’s tyres when Pineda-Ricardo tries to take off.

Police say he was arrested later when they found his crippled car nearby.

A further search revealed the Dodge had an electric licence screen fitted to make it harder to identify.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Atlanta Police Department (APD), along with a statement that said: “Between the evening of October 15th and the early morning of October 16th, 2022, Atlanta Police were notified of a group of reckless drivers performing donuts and burnouts in major intersections of adjoining counties.”

They added: “Atlanta Police were, fortunately, able to respond to the incidents quickly and disperse the gatherings while charging at least 10 participants and impounding 10 vehicles at the various locations, in the process.

“Street racing remains a priority to us, and we will not stop our efforts to eradicate these criminals from our streets.

“While multiple arrests were made for this behaviour overnight, our work is far from over.

“We are proud of the efforts of our officers last night as they continue to show that street racing will not be tolerated in the City of Atlanta.”
