A young woman has been arrested for killing her father and mutilating his genitals after he sexually abused her from the age of 10.

Bunyada Junjuang, 28, who was reportedly sexually abused by her father when she was as young as 10, was detained in the Thai capital Bangkok at 2.30am on 17th June.

The police said that she has been charged with stabbing her father, 58-year-old Kasem Bunyachon, to death at his home in the Bangkok district of Lak Si.

According to police spokesperson Surin Phurit, the suspect stabbed her father in the forehead and genitals.

The motive for the alleged murder is yet to be established.

Surin Phurit said the suspect has a history of drug abuse and was unable to answer officers under questioning.

She also appeared tired and incoherent when she was arrested on the street near the murder scene, according to the police.

Junjuang’s mother Chiaranai Junjuang, 52, told local media that her daughter only visited her father on rare occasions as they were not on good terms.

The mother, who previously divorced the , said that he had a terrible temper and a history of sexually abusing his daughter from the age of 10.

She also confirmed that her daughter went on to develop a drug problem.

The local police said the suspect went inside her father’s house on the night in question before reappearing 10 minutes later in blood-stained clothes.

As it was raining hard that night, no one heard any screams or noise.

Junjuang then threw the knife in a rubbish bin in front of a minimarket before being arrested, according to reports.

Phurit said they are waiting for the suspect to feel better before questioning her.

The investigation is ongoing.
