This is the moment Saudi Arabia‘s mega-rich Crown Prince donates a GBP 90,000 Merc to a young fan even though he won’t be able to drive for more than ten years.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud had been greeting well-wishers as he left a building in the Middle East kingdom.
But when he asks one boy, who looks no older than five, if he’d like a present the cheeky youngster sets his sights high and says simply: “I want a Mercedes.”
Smiling, the crown prince says: “Do you want a Mercedes? OK.”
Then as the youngster nods enthusiastically, the crown prince says to the entourage over his shoulder: “Get the address.”
The encounter went viral on social media.
And the next day the boy is seen posing beside what seems to be a top-of-the-range Mercedes GLE 4×4 sent as a gift from the prince.
Some social media users poked fun at the lavish gift.
One laughed: “I now identify as a Saudi Arabian child.”
Another joked: “He should’ve asked for a Bugatti!”
Others used the video to highlight the struggle for female equality behind the wheel.
One said: “Meanwhile, women ask for the right to drive, and journalists ask for freedom.”
Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud has often made headlines for his expensive gifts.
In recognition of Saudi Arabia’s impressive performance in the 2022 World Cup, he gifted each member of the squad a Rolls Royce.
The Saudi Prince has also attracted attention for his role in recruiting top-tier football stars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, to the Saudi Pro League.
