Victoria Matos, a 26-year-old erotic content creator from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has championed the causes of plus-size women with her social media posts.

But she has revealed that waves of hate comments almost broke her despite having 16 million followers on her TikTok and Instagram posts.

Her revelation comes as body-positive star Lizzo is facing claims that she fat-shamed members of her stage troupe.

Victoria says she began struggling with depression after countless users attacked her with fatphobic remarks.

She already had trouble seeing her body in a positive light ever since she was a child, and online bullies only made it worse.

As a child and teenager, she says she lost count of how many things she stopped doing because she felt ugly and “too fat” to be seen.

At just ten years old, she had even asked God in a letter to forgive her for having overeaten.

In one excerpt that she shared on social media, the heartbreaking letter reads: “I want to improve and try to do good and right things.

” I know I shouldn’t eat everything I ate. Again forgive me, dear lord.”

But despite following strict diets and frequently undergoing liposuctions, the model seemingly could not get rid of her curves.

It was only later she learned that she suffers from a condition called lipedema, an abnormal fat buildup on the lower body.

Victoria said: “Discovering about lipedema relieved the weight off my shoulders because I used to blame myself for not being able to slim down my legs, even though I worked out intensely.

“Psychological problems and eating disorders also had a significant impact on my life.”

Now, the influencer has decided to shut down the haters and to begin enjoying herself.

With the help of family as well as therapy, Victoria said she is slowly growing to learn how to dismiss the harsh criticism.

She continued: “I’ve suffered a lot from internet bullying; people didn’t like me because of my weight and body.

“I’ve grown tired of receiving hurtful messages whose only purpose was to harm me.

“This still happens routinely in my life, but unlike before, I don’t let these people make me feel like a monster.”

And – Victoria adds – none of her romantic partners have ever had a problem with how she looks.

The OnlyFans star went on: “It is not the contemplation of the fat body, nor the romanticisation, as many say.

“It is self-love, affection for oneself, zeal, care, self-esteem.”

Her future hopes are that she will be able to inspire people to free their bodies, a help she did not get as a teenager.

Victoria added: “I cannot describe the feeling of such a sincere exchange as I have with my followers.

“People seek me out to vent, talk about how they identify and best of all: many have come to love themselves or try to love themselves.”
