A Russian YouTuber that specialised in filming derelict buildings has died after falling from a fire escape on a property where he was filming content for his latest video.

Dmitry Beshentsev, 34, better known as Dima Vert, posted videos about abandoned buildings on his YouTube channel ‘Beam of the Inquisition’ for his 80,000 subscribers.

He died at an abandoned building that was built in the Russian capital Moscow in 1971 in the accident that happened on 10th September.

The derelict building that he died in is opposite a former tram depot, which is now used to store buses, and was supposed to be under renovation but the work had been on hold for a long time.

Beshentsev was with two friends who managed to get to the derelict building’s roof to take photos, however, the fire ladder gave way while he was on it and he fell to the ground.

A picture shows the broken section of ladder lying on the ground in the building where he was apparently killed on the spot, and his two friends who had already made it successfully to the roof could only look on in horror as he fell.

In one of his last videos, Beshentsev was filmed taking a trip in a dinghy along one of Moscow’s water-filled abandoned tunnels.

His followers were stunned by the young man’s death, with YouTube user ‘Polishchikukor’ commenting: “You will always be remembered, my friend. We all miss you very much. The world is not fair.”

Netizen ‘Annabernekiv89′ wrote: “Rest in peace. We will miss you. I just can’t believe it. There are no words.”

It is unclear whether the local authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
