This is the moment a man in Russia grabs a nine-year-old girl and drags her off into the bushes only to be scared away by a local woman who started screaming and scared him away.
The child, who showed the bruises that she received in the attempted abduction, later told local media that the man had chillingly told her “do you want to live?” after violently grabbing her and dragging her away.
The nine-year-old girl, who was not named, was left with bruises on her neck and face after the unidentified man allegedly tried to strangle as he dragged her into the bushes in the town of Solnechnogorsk near Moscow earlier this month (September).
The incident from which footage has now been released occurred as Russia has been rocked by a series of high-profile paedophile cases, including the incident earlier this month when a man killed his best friend and buried him in the woods after finding out he raped his nine-year-old daughter.
And last month (August), two teens aged 19 and 15 were sentenced to prison for the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl who was found at the bottom of a well in the Siberian town of Nizhnyaya Koya.
Local news site Gazeta reports that the footage of the man sneaking up on the girl and then grabbing her by the throat was posted on a Telegram channel ‘Traffic accidents and emergency situations MOSCOW and MO’.
In the clip, the man can be seen casually approaching the girl from behind before grabbing her in a tight chokehold and dragging her towards the bushes.
The nine-year-old girl showed local media her bruises and said that the man who grabbed her whispered in her ear, “Do you want to live?”
Gazeta reports that a local resident witnessed what was happening and started screaming as loud as she could, which spooked the attacker, who let the girl go and fled the scene.
The local authorities launched an investigation and detained the suspect shortly after the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and it’s not clear what charge the prosecutor intends to bring against the man.
