ROLL WITH IT: World’s Most Expensive Hotdog Makers Keep Price DOWN To Just GBP 221

As fast food goes, these luxury GBP 221 hotdogs have to be one of the wurst Christmas bargains ever.

But the maker of the world’s most expensive hotdog claims the price is an inflation-buster because they have not put it up since last year.

Every year the famous hotdog goes on sale at the Rudolph Christmas market in Lucerne in Switzerland with the price last year set at CHF 250 (GBP 221).

And now this year, visitors can snap up the delicacy for the same price despite the spiralling price of everything else.

The sausages are offered by the snack stand operated by Zurich catering company Happy Souls.

The luxury treat comes in a saffron bun made with Japanese Kobe beef, Alba white truffle and a Cristal Roederer champagne foam.

The hotdog also has a gold-plated peppercorn and luxury chocolate crumble for the final touch.

They say the eye-watering price is because the white Alba truffle is the most expensive truffle in the world.

And a bottle of Cristal Roederer also does not come cheap at almost EUR 300 each

Previously the title of world’s most expensive hotdog was held by the firm Tokyo Dog in Seattle which had a 12-inch smoked cheese “bratwurst” topped with butter-teriyaki grilled onions, maitake mushrooms, wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles, caviar and Japanese mayo on a brioche bun.

But now Happy Souls has claimed the title even with their inflation-busting decision to keep it at the same price this year.
