This is the moment a huge rogue elephant chases after a safari jeep and nearly manages to knock it over in the 16th such incident involving the same angry mammal since October.

In the footage, which resembles the famous T-Rex scene in ‘Jurassic Park’, the huge elephant is seen stomping towards a jeep carrying tourists which just about manages to pull away in time.

The disgruntled elephant lives in the Jim Corbett National Park in Ramnagar in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand and regularly chases visitors, according to local media.

Last week, the rogue elephant attacked a motorcyclist before chasing a safari jeep near the park’s Dhangadi Gate.

The jeep incident was filmed by one of the tourists and shared on social media.

In the footage, a motorcyclist is seen running in fear from the oncoming elephant while tourists in a stationary jeep take snaps.

However, as the huge animal stomps closer, they realise that it is heading straight for the jeep and a tourist tells the driver to go.

The motorist then steps on the gas and the jeep manages to pull away just before the elephant was possibly about to overturn it.

According to local media, the elephant has been attacking vehicles for the past few months and has been known to ransack them looking for food.

Reports said that it has been responsible for 16 incidents reported between October 2018 and the end of April 2019.

National park spokesperson Chandra Shekhar Joshi said that the forest department is taking steps to address the problem before the elephant causes serious injury or worse.
