This is the moment an escaped enraged bull about to be taken to a livestock market goes on a rampage digging its horns into an unfortunate passerby before cops eventually killed it.

The water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) bull was among several belonging to livestock trader Mr Chen, who does his business in the city of Luoding in China’s southern Guangdong Province.

Local authorities said five civilians and a law enforcement officer were injured by the runaway bull in the Sulong Residential District on 18th June.

CCTV footage shows the moment the escaping buffalo slams into the back of a pedestrian pulling a handcart, knocking the victim over and attacking them with its horns.

In another clip, the animal dashes past a moped and runs into the back of a second victim before continuing without stopping along a busy road.

A statement by the Luoding Public Security Bureau said its director, Wu Qinquan, who is also the city’s deputy mayor, approved the use of lethal force to stop the bull.

Officers gunned the animal down roughly four hours later after failing to bring it under control.

Two of the victims remain in treatment for serious injuries, the police said, adding that none was in any life-threatening condition.

The owner Mr Chen, whose buffalo is thought to have been spooked while being loaded onto a lorry, is being held for questioning.
