This is the moment an SUV hit by a speeding car spins into a two-storey house which partially collapses on top of it.

The dramatic accident happened on 307 County Road in the city of Taizhou in East China’s Jiangsu Province on the morning of 25th October.

Traffic camera video shows the white Ford SUV entering the small junction travelling eastwards when a saloon car suddenly speeds into view and hits it from the right side.

The Ford driven by Mr Ji spins out of control, and the back end of the car crashes into the nearby corner house.

The fragile building immediately caves in, sending rubble, including concrete and brick, falling onto the SUV, which ends up wedged in the house’s sitting room.

Local authorities said three occupants inside the SUV were taken to hospital for treatment. None is believed to be in any life-threatening condition.

In a policeman’s body-worn camera footage, he can be surveying the scene and asking the saloon owner Mr Yang: “Were you asleep at the wheel?”

Suggesting that Mr Yang was going well over the speed limit, the officer adds: “Or did you think you were flying a plane? There are no brake marks here at all!”

Mr Yang was detained, but no charges had been announced at the time of writing as the investigations continue.

The police said the two-storey house was not occupied at the time.
