This is the moment a man sits at a table in the middle of a flooded street and calmly eats soup with his feet in the water while blocking police from driving past.

The unusual incident was filmed in the central Turkish province of Yozgat following a period of heavy rainfall and flash floods.

In the footage, shared on social media and widely circulated by netizens, the unnamed resident is seen sitting at a table placed in the middle of the flooded street.

He calmly eats his soup as a police patrol car tries to get past. At the end of the clip, two residents wade through the water to the diner’s position and carry his table to the side of the road.

According to local media, the man was eating soup while police and firefighters were trying to drain the flooded street, but calmly continued dining while obstructing their way.

In the end, police had to instruct several residents to move his dinner table from the middle of the road.

Netizen ‘Syhn’ said: “Goodness knows what issues the guy has. Some problems cannot be washed away, not even with rainwater.”
