This is the moment an eight-year-old boy is sent flying by a car after he runs across the road without looking left and right while out buying milk.

The accident took place in the district of Manavgat in the south-western Turkish province of Antalya when the boy went to a lorry parked across the road from his home to buy milk.

Reports said that the eight-year-old boy, identified with his initials B.E.G., is fighting for his life in intensive care following the accident.

In the shocking footage, the youngster is seen walking from the side of the lorry before running into the road.

Apparently without checking the traffic, the boy runs straight into an oncoming car and his body is sent flying.

At the end of the clip, concerned loved ones are seen running across the road to help the youngster.

According to local media, the car stopped after the accident and the driver’s wife took the injured boy to a nearby hospital herself rather than wait for an ambulance.

The eight-year-old has since been transferred to the intensive care unit of the Antalya Training and Research Hospital where he is still fighting for his life.

The local authorities have confirmed that they are investigating the accident.
