Priest Accused Of Being Gang Hitman Filmed As He Guns Down Target

A priest suspected of using his religious role as a cover for his work as a hitman is believed to be one fo the two men seen here gunning down a victim on the order of jailed gang leaders.

The footage shows the gunman walking up to his target and repeatedly shooting him, with the victim falling to the ground before the first shooter and an accomplice shoot him again to make sure that he is dead.

The priest, named as Flavio Severino da Silva, was arrested on Wednesday, 20th December in the city of Quirinopolis, in the state of Goias.

As a religious leader, police are also probing whether he would have been allowed access to visit the gang bosses in jail to get instructions to pass on to the organisation outside the jail.

Prisoners are guaranteed access to priests for their moral well-being under the country’s constitution.

The police reportedly suspect the priest, who also worked as a welder. Of being a hitman responsible for killing at least 11 people in Pernambuco.

Local police chief Thiago Henrique told local media that da Silva was wanted for 11 murders before he was arrested.

The authorities said that he had acted as a gunman for a criminal organisation that had tasked him with eliminating rivals.

The orders reportedly came from jailbirds in prisons in the area. With the authorities executing search warrants inside the penitentiaries.

The authorities said that they had also issued 10 arrest warrants. And 15 search and seizure warrants against other suspects believed to have taken part in murders and drug trafficking.
