Polish cops are trying to hunt down a pair of daredevils who tried to spice up lockdown by jumping from the 20th floor of a block of flats with a parachute.

An eyewitness from a neighbouring block of flats had grabbed their camera phone when they spotted what the men were about to do just as they jumped from the apartment block in the Polish capital Warsaw.

The first jumper to leap is seen plummeting to the ground with a red parachute emerging at the last minute, and he is then followed by the second parachutist with a green shoot in the video that lasts just 15 seconds.

The footage was reportedly shot in the capital’s Bielany district where a person can be heard shouting at the last minute that the man was “going to make it”.

The footage was widely shared, notching up 350,000 views, with over a thousand likes but it was slammed by cops.

Local police spokeswoman Kamila Szulc said they planned to track down the duo because jumping with a parachute from such a low height was extremely dangerous, especially in a populated area, which could result in injuries not just for those jumping but also those on the ground.

She told Polish news agency PAP: “Parachuting is a dangerous and risky extreme sport. It needs to be carried out by professionals who understand the risk and know how to limit it for themselves and others.”

She said this was why the professionals would only jump in places where “they don’t pose a risk to others”.
