A plane passenger caused terror on a flight in China when tried to open an emergency exit door screaming “Death is coming.”

The Hainan Airlines flight from Beijing to Shanghai was about to take off when the man suddenly sprinted for the First Class cabin exit.

As he grappled with flight attendants, he screamed out: “The plane is about to have an accident, death is coming!”

The plane’s security officer and business class passenger wrestled with the man as he tried to open the door in the drama on 3rd January, reported local media.

And even after he was dragged away and restrained in a seat, he kept shouting: “Everybody who wants to live, get off the plane now!”

Passenger phone footage from Flight HU7063 shows flight attendants running up and down the aisle while others hold the man down in a seat.

Spooked passengers can be seen getting out of their seats and trying to see what the shouting is about.

The plane was ordered to return to its departure stand, where the man was seized and taken away by airport police for psychiatric evaluation.

Hainan Airlines cancelled the flight after many passengers said they were too anxious to stay onboard.

Flight HU7603 was cancelled due to public safety concerns, the airline told local media.
