A crazed 10-year-old stabbed his pal to death with a knife after he tried to break up a fight between a group of kids.

The horrifying incident took place on a street in Franco da Rocha, Brazil, on 9th January.

Police say the kids had been playing in the street but a fight had then broken out.

One had then run into his home, grabbed a knife from the kitchen sink, and stabbed his 11-year-old pal, named in reports as Caio Lucas.

According to the 10-year-old’s godmother, the fight happened after Caio had tried to break up a fight between her godson and a brother of one of the boys.

As reports only stated that “he tried to break up a fight between the boy and his brother”, it is unclear which boy’s brother it was.

The godmother told local media that her godson is not an aggressive kid and that he had been crying a lot lately because he had just lost his father.

Following the stabbing, emergency services were called, but Caio died at the scene, reportedly in his sister’s arms.

He was taken to a local emergency care unit, but medics were unable to revive him.

His distraught mother Maria Elaine Gomes – who was at work at the time of the incident – told how her son’s alleged killer had only recently moved to the street.

She said she had told her son not to play with him because of his bad behaviour.

Maria told local media: “I’ve never liked him. Had I been here, I wouldn’t have let my son play with him. I’d always warned him he was trouble.”

Relatives and neighbours described Caio as a polite and quiet lad. His dream, said his mum, was to be a Military Police officer.

She had been planning to gift him a bicycle.

The boy who allegedly stabbed Caio had not been caught at the time of reporting. Some believe his mother is hiding him.

His godmother has called his actions wrong and has said he must pay for what he did.
