This is the shocking moment a cleanup crew enter a house where the young woman living there had not taken out the trash for two years.

The tenant who had moved to China was in COVID lockdown and was apparently so scared she did not emerge even to throw out rubbish.

Eventually, it got to the point where the property in Jiaxing – a prefecture-level city in northern Zhejiang province – was so packed with trash that only a small patch on a sofa bed remained clear for her to sleep on.

Much of it seems to have been bagged up but then left to rot in rooms and passageways.

The landlord had been forced to hire the special clean up crew who worked for two days to clear out the property.

The trash filled 27 huge bins full before it was all removed.

She said the young woman had been forced to pay cleanup cost of just over GBP 120.

She said: “I could not believe how dirty it was inside, you couldn’t move because garbage was thrown everywhere, even the bed was full of garbage and she slept on a small area of the sofa which was about the only area not covered in rubbish.”
