This is the moment a woman is savagely attacked by three dangerous dogs as she walks down the street – and only manages to escape after local residents intervene.
CCTV footage shows how the unnamed lone woman walks down the street carrying several bags when she is suddenly attacked by a dog, with a second and then a third swiftly joining them.
The incident took place in the town of San Andres in the administrative unit of General San Martin in Argentina’s Greater Buenos Aires Region on the morning of Monday, 23rd August.
The attack began when one of the dogs, which are pit bull mixes, left its owner’s house and bit the woman on the hand.
The footage shows how she then tries to get away from it by running into the road, only for a second dog to join in the attack, and a third a few seconds later.
The woman shouted for help as the dogs bit at her legs and tugged at her coat, which caused local residents to come out onto the street and help her.
The footage shows how one man throws a sizeable rock at the dogs and another, dressed in just a pair of shorts, runs over and starts beating the canines with a stick.
He is joined by another man, who also beats the dogs with what appears to be a metal crutch.
The attack, which lasted for over two minutes, then subsided after the neighbours’ intervention. The victim was then taken to hospital, where she had to receive several stitches.
According to a local resident named Carlos, the dogs are highly problematic, and the locals know not to pass in front of their owner’s house to avoid a similar situation.
As the woman in the clip does not live on that street, she was not aware of this risk.
Carlos told local media: “My dad lives across the street and every time I visit him I carry a stick in my hand to defend myself against them. Not long ago they attacked my dog, which luckily got away, but I had to take him to the vet to have his wounds treated. They are very aggressive.”
After the latest attack, the neighbours called the authorities to inform them of the conditions in which the animals were being kept.
At the time of reporting, the dogs appeared to have been taken away. It was not reported if their owner faces charges.
