Moment Scooter Boy On Zebra Crossing Speeds Into Audi And Is Nearly Run Over By Lorry

This is the moment a boy speeds over a zebra crossing on a scooter on a busy multi-lane road before slamming into the side of a swerving Audi and nearly being run over by a lorry.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the city of Wenzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang last week.

The nine-year-old boy, name not reported, was hit by a SUV while crossing the road on a scooter, according to the local news outlet Sina.

The police pointed out that the Audi driver, named as Yan Mou, sounded his horn to alert the boy that he and other motorists were approaching the crossing.

Mou took evasive action and the boy slammed into the side of his vehicle and was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries. There have been no further updates on his condition.

In the footage, several people at the side of the road are seen waiting for a break in traffic before attempting to cross the busy main road at a zebra crossing.

The boy, wearing a yellow T-shirt, is seen scootering across the road while a cyclist ventures over more slowly and a pedestrian avoids attempting to cross altogether.

While apparently not looking at the oncoming traffic and failing to hear the Audi driver’s horn, the boy speeds across the road as Mou veers into the next lane to avoid hitting him.

The boy then slams into the side of the car, although the incident could have been far worse had the driver not taken evasive action.

The boy appears injured and is rolled in a ball on the ground as a lorry driver also has to swerve into the next lane to avoid running him over.

It is unclear if the local authorities are investigating the incident and if the Audi driver has been charged for failing to yield to a pedestrian on a zebra crossing.
