This is the moment a lorry crashes into a car and overturns on several passersby before shedding its quarry load on top of them as well.

The incident was filmed in the district of Xiaoshan in the city of Hangzhou in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang on 27th December.

According to local reports, three people were killed in the accident.

The driver of a red car reportedly turned left on a red light and crashed into a lorry, which overturned and landed on several passersby. The container then shed its load on top of the victims’ bodies.

Three people were taken to two local hospitals and pronounced dead on arrival.

In the footage, the red car is seen driving into the path of an oncoming lorry as the driver attempts to swerve out of the way.

The vehicles collide as at least three people stand nearby. One woman makes a run for it and appears to escape harm. However, at least two people are hit by the red car before being crushed by the overturning lorry.

The container, apparently filled with rocks and quarry, then spills onto the victims’ bodies.

In another video, the emergency services are seen covering the bodies after a digger apparently cleared some of the rocks to reach their position among the rubble.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
