This is the moment a lorry smashes into a line of cars stuck in traffic right next to a cop who signals for the driver to stop a split second earlier.
The incident was caught on camera in Bashkiria, near the city of Oktyabrsky, in the Republic of Bashkortostan in central-eastern Russia.
In the video, the cop can be seen directing traffic while waving his rod.
After a few seconds, a red lorry is seen moving at speed and ploughing into a queue of traffic that has built up.
The lorry crashes into a line of cars damaging at least four vehicles visible in the video.
The cop then rushes towards the vehicles.
Fellow drivers and passengers on the road reportedly got out of their cars to apprehend the driver.
If it unclear if anyone was killed or injured in the smash.
Netizens took to social media speculating that the incident might have been due to a failure in the braking system.
One user named ‘Igor Mulukov said: “So many fools met in one place.”
Another user under the name ‘write 11ff’ said: “I hope the cop will be rewarded because of how he, without fear, rushed into the mangled cars, helping the wounded! Well done! Hero!”
