FUN-GUYS: Courier Service Stored Fungus-Covered Packages For Absent Customers

A woman who went to the parcels office to collect a package was amazed when she discovered some of the boxes had apparently been there so long – they had developed huge fungus growths.

The surprising photographs were captured by the unidentified woman, at the parcels office of an unidentified courier firm in the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, which is an autonomous prefecture for the Dai people in the extreme south of China’s Yunnan Province.

She said that she had missed a courier delivery and had a notification to go pick up a parcel.

When she went there with her sister, as she was looking for the parcel, she was amazed to discover one with a massive fungus growing out of it.

The young woman then noticed a second parcel which also had a huge fungus growing out of it, and she took a video of both packages.

Curious about what they contained, she said she had called the owner of one of the packages whose details were on the box. But as they were out of town, they could not come and collect the box.

Local media commented that the mushrooms appeared to be oyster mushrooms, and suggested that the room was probably hot and humid, which would have been the perfect conditions for them to grow on board the cardboard.

If correct, the owner of the package would end up with two deliveries in one, as oyster mushrooms are regarded as a tasty treat.

It was not revealed what was in either of the boxes where the fungus had decided to grow.
