The lawyer of the model who accused Neymar of raping her last year has said “he has to pay” for allegedly “posting intimate material” of the model as the Brazil star remains under investigation for revenge porn.
Lawyer Cosme Araujo made the comments to Brazilian magazine ‘Veja’ referring to the pending lawsuit against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Neymar, 28, after he allegedly revealed intimate material of model Najila Trindade, 27, without her consent.
Trindade accused Neymar of raping her in May of last year but the case was archived in August due to unsubstantial evidence. After the accusation, the Brazil forward allegedly revealed private messages and pictures he claimed the model had sent him which led to the revenge porn lawsuit.
Veja report Araujo said Neymar “has to pay for the crime of posting intimate material of a woman without her consent. There is a feeling that this player is untouchable.”
Local media report Araujo plans on personally contacting the Rio de Janeiro Public Ministry to demand explanations for the delay after the cybercrime case was opened in June of last year, with Trindade telling local media Neymar made publications to “insult” and “embarrass” her.
According to Veja, Trindade is staying in a flat in the Brazilian state of Bahia with her seven-year-old son and is taking anti-depressants due to suffering from panic attacks.
Trindade accused Neymar of raping her in a Paris hotel on 15th May. The case was archived by a judge in the Sao Paulo court in August of last year due to “unsubstantial evidence”, “contradictions with the statements made by the accuser and circumstantial evidence.”
