Souleymane Sana – from the city of New Bern, North Carolina State, USA – revealed how he will split his new fortune between a dance academy and new schools.

Sana, 39, said in a statement obtained by Newsflash from North Carolina Education Lottery: “I’m going to keep doing my best to help build more classrooms for the children in Mali.

“These schools don’t even have a classroom. They don’t have a desk to sit. They have to walk miles and miles to come.

“Some of the money is going to be paying for children’s education. Some of the money is going to be building the classroom.

“Some of the money is going to be buying a desk for the children to sit.

“That is the thing that makes me really happy.”

Sana explained how he had already created a non-profit organisation that will now help channel his huge scratchcard win back to his homeland.

He said “This was my dream. I grew up in a tough way. That was one of the main reasons I bought that scratch ticket was to be able to keep helping them.”

Sana bought the lucky USD 30 (GBP 24) Millionaire Maker ticket from Neuse Shop and Fuel on West New Bern Road in the city of Kinston.

He collected his prize at North Carolina Lottery headquarters on 16th May and went home with USD 71,259 (GBP 57,248) following state and federal taxes.

Sana said: “I love to dance and I want to teach the children in Mali to love it too.

“If you talk about culture and you talk about education, they both go together.

“Some of the money is going to be used to start building a dance center there.

“My dream is just becoming true little by little and I hope it will keep going.

“It’s a lot of money, it can do a lot.

“They can study how to be humble. They can study how to be patient. They can study how to sing. They can study how to dance.”
