A man who promised his fiancee her dream wedding is set to make it come true after scooping USD 150,000 on a lotto scratchcard.
Lucky Alfred Harrell – from Cary, North Carolina State, USA – told how his patient partner had been waiting for a year after he popped the question.
He explained in a statement obtained by Newsflash from North Carolina Education Lottery: “It’s been almost a year to the day and those promises will come true now.
“It will be a big family celebration. We are looking at parks all around the area.”
Amazed Alfred bought his USD 5 (GBP 4) Super Loteria ticket instant ticket at the Circle K convenience store in the Exxon gas station on Walnut Street.
And he could hardly believe his amazing luck when he uncovered the grand prize.
He said: “I’m still trying to process it. If I went the other direction and didn’t get gas there, I wouldn’t have won.”
Alfred went home with USD 106,876 (GBP 86,072) after paying state and federal taxes.
North Carolina Education Lottery said: “The Super Loteria game debuted this month with six USD 150,000 [GBP 121,000] top prizes.
“Five USD 150,000 [GBP 121,000] prizes remain to be claimed.”
