Injured Dog Walks Into Veterinary Clinic Looking For Help

This is the moment an injured dog walks into a veterinary clinic of its own accord as if asking for help.

The surprising scene took place in the Brazilian city of Iguatu on the morning of Wednesday, 24th June.

A security camera in the veterinary clinic filmed the black-and-white pooch as it wandered into the clinic and stood meekly before a female vet, who noticed it appeared to be injured.

Her colleague, Igor Holanda, who gave the dog a checkup, told local news site G1: “The animal had a large wound in the neck region and needed clinical care.

“So it came to our office and we performed the first assessment. During the examination, we realised that it was a very serious injury. We did the cleaning and all the treatment to avoid infection.

“Another surgical procedure will be needed in the future so that we can treat this wound definitively.”

According to local animal care NGO Vira-Lata de Raca, the dog had already been found by locals and taken to a residence, but had escaped by the time volunteers from the NGO arrived.

In a post to Instagram since ‘liked’ thousands of times, the NGO wrote: “It is stories like these that reaffirm our faith in humanity.

“It enters the clinic and asks people for help, debilitated, in pain, in the midst of so much suffering.

“Congratulations to the veterinarian and professional Dr Igor Holanda, who saw to it and gave it all the assistance it needed.”

At the time of reporting, the dog was recovering at the NGO head office and awaiting a new home.
