This footage shows a hospital nurse apparently torturing a young disabled boy in a clip which sparked an investigation when it was leaked online.
The incident took place in the city of Irkutsk in the south-central Russian region of Irkutsk Oblast and was reportedly filmed by the mother of a fellow patient at the Irkutsk Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital.
The footage shows the chubby junior nurse being rough with the disabled boy.
Reports said that she was also seen hitting the young patient who is said to be fully dependent on social care.
After the video was shared on social media, the local authorities launched an investigation and the nurse, whose name was not reported, has reportedly been suspended by the hospital.
The hospital head Gennadiy Gvak has also been questioned by the police, according to local media.
Representatives of the local health watchdog have already checked the boy.
Gvak also carried out a medical examination and confirmed there were no signs of torture on the young patient.
The hospital head believes the nurse’s behaviour may have been triggered by a conflict with the boy’s mother.
Reports said the nurse could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty of abusing the disabled patient.
