This is the moment a cruel maid repeatedly bodyslams a defenceless five-year-old boy in her care onto the ground in a video that has been shared widely online.

The video was filmed by an onlooker in the town of Ponggol in the North-East Region of the city-state of Singapore.

In the clip, the maid, who has not been named in reports, can be seen walking across a grassy area with the five-year-old boy in her arms when he slams him to the ground.

The woman then picks the tot up again before dropping him to the ground from a height.

The maid, reportedly 24 years old, then picks the youngster up once more and begins walking away.

The boy’s mother has now quit her job to look after her children full-time as she no longer trusts domestic workers to do so.

Local media report the boy’s mother, 35, says her son had told her the maid had hurt him but as the domestic worker denied this she did not probe the incident further.

Reports state the maid claimed the boy had hurt himself when playing on the field.

However, the boy’s father then saw the video footage of his son being slammed to the ground online and reported it to the authorities.

The maid was arrested but is reportedly refusing to speak about the incident.

The boy reportedly complained of injuries to his front and back, although it is unclear how seriously he was hurt.

The investigation is ongoing.
