This is the moment a galloping horse collides head-on with an SUV on a busy road before walking off along the pavement.
The bizarre incident happened in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the Russian federal subject of Sakhalin Oblast on 12th May.
Local news website Sakhalin said the CCTV footage was filmed moments after the horse managed to escape from an area behind a cafe called Caravan-Saray in the city centre.
The video shows a large galloping horse turn a corner and enter a busy road where several trucks and cars are seen whizzing by.
The animal appears to try and stop as the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser hits the brakes but is unable to avoid hitting the horse in a head-on collision.
The horse appears to be dazed from the impact but eventually continues on its way as the video ends.
According to Sakhalin, the SUV, which was seriously damaged in the incident, was driven by a man who was with his daughter at the time.
The daughter said the cost isn’t known yet but “it is clear that the car damage will amount to tens of thousands of rubles”.
She added: “We walked around the area and tried to find the animal’s owner. We plan to contact the police. The damage is substantial.”
It is unclear whether the horse or its owner were found.
The local authorities have yet to confirm whether they are investigating the incident.
