This is the moment a man in southern China got a fright on the tiles when part of his roof fell off and hit him in the back.

The victim – not named in local media in Lufeng, Guangdong Province – had been scraping a bowl of what looked like roots clean outside the property on 5th November.

But – CCTV footage shows – within seconds of sitting down roof tiles suddenly fall off and hit the man’s back, just missing his head.

He jumps up in fright and seems close to collapsing as he massages his back and neck trying to ease the obvious pain.

Family members run out of the house to see what caused the noise and they all stand in shock for a couple of seconds.

Despite getting hit on the back, the man is luckily able to walk it off.

After the incident, the man immediately asked someone to remove the tiles on the exterior wall that had potential safety hazards, according to local media.

The man’s injuries were not serious, local media reported.

And the video of the accident made its way to Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok – to warn netizens of the unexpected dangers found in everyday life.

User ‘QQ sugar’ said: “In the past few days, I have been struggling with whether to tile or spray paint on the exterior wall, and now I have given up on tiling.”
