This is the moment a Turkish farmer approaches a one-tonne calf with a broom, hoping it will react by walking out of the trailer but it runs directly at the farmer instead, sending him flying onto the concrete ground and fracturing his arm.

The farmer, Hasan Yildiz, age not disclosed, brought his calf, which weighed approximately one tonne, to a special slaughterhouse to be sacrificed in the district of Sancaktepe in the Turkish province of Istanbul.

Hasan opened the trailer and found that the calf had somehow removed the rope that was tied around its neck.

With no way to pull the calf out of the trailer, Hasan grabbed a broom that he hoped would help him get the calf to move.

The calf took one look at the broom and sprinted forwards smashing directly into Hasan.

Hasan was sent into the air by the powerful animal before crashing into a heap on the concrete.

He remains on the ground as several of his witnesses walk over to make sure he is not badly injured.

Hasan was taken to a local hospital by witnesses where he was diagnosed with a fractured arm, reports DHA.

Hasan told DHA in an interview: “The people there took me to the hospital. I also had a dislocation on my arm. They fixed it. But now I have a fracture in two parts of my arm.

“The calf was kept for sacrifice. After it escaped, we chased it for two hours to catch it. We finally caught it.”

The calf was supposed to be sacrificed but it is not clear if the ritual was carried out or postponed following Hasan’s hospitalisation.
