Gunman Arrested After Tense Standoff Following Family Dispute

Officers in Arizona arrested an armed shooter who was reportedly part of a family dispute before heading to a nearby convenience store and shooting a man, as these images show.

Body-worn footage shows officers apprehending the suspect – whose identity was not revealed – after a dramatic standoff in Glendale, Arizona on 14th March.

The incident began as multiple calls came in from the home where the family fight occurred, claiming the man was armed with a gun and knife and threatening others.

Upon arrival, officers heard gunshots from a nearby convenience store and discovered that the same man was involved in both incidents.

With the help of a police helicopter, the man was located on Mariposa Street, armed with a handgun.

After a tense standoff, during which the man pointed the gun at his head and then at the officers, two officers discharged their weapons.

The suspect was ultimately apprehended with the assistance of a less-lethal Taser deployment.

The man was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment before being booked into jail on multiple charges.

He was not injured by officers’ gunshots, according to reports.

The victim of the convenience store shooting was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.

An internal investigation is underway to determine if the officers’ actions were consistent with department policy and the law.
